MY NAME IS MILAN
Commencing my career some 40 years ago in industrial design designing contemporary pieces of furniture, I always appreciated the art of the initial design. Free hand drawings fuelled my imagination which then had to be turned into practical ergonomic pieces. In my spare time I would also carve sculptures out of wood or draw impromptu pastel pictures.

Whilst my management and furniture design career commenced in a large furniture manufacturing company in Sarajevo, B&H, I was regularly visiting furniture design shows around Europe including Milan, Paris, London, Cologne, Barcelona, Moscow, Belgrade, Zagreb, Rome and Florence. In each city, I took every opportunity to visit art galleries, museums, cathedrals and street artists, fascinated with architecture, art, lines, colour and patterns. I collected paintings, photos, books about art and started to regularly sketch, draw and paint myself.

In 1988, my career took me to Australia, Brisbane where I managed an international furniture company, Sidex Australia QLD branch. In that time I undertook further study and opened my own interior design business called Sunshine Interiors. I continued to draw and design over those 20 years.

During the 2000's, I decided to pursue my passion for art full time and completed training specialising in oil paintings under the well know French-Canadian Master Artist Marcel Desbiens. Having the background in design gave me a natural ability to consider perspective, scale, form and structure, and my style evolved over the years.

I now have my own MAC STUDIO Art & Design in Brisbane, Australia enjoying experimenting with different styles in oil and mixed media techniques, including landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes, still life, abstract and figure art.
